Sport England’s National Together Fund End of Programme evaluation

81 Partners supported 3,300 community organisations to deliver Together Fund activities across the country. In total, community organisations completed over 3,700 Together Fund projects, from horse riding sessions to chair yoga. Sport England distributed the Together Fund through a network of partners. This included working with existing partners as well as establishing new relationships with others. Partners delivering the Together Fund included: • Active Partnerships – a nationwide physical activity and sport network of 43 local and independent non-profit organisations across England, who take a place-based approach. • National Governing Bodies – organisations that govern and administer a specific sport on a national basis. • National or local charities / organisations who also receive other Sport England funding. • Specialist organisations, some non-physical activity or sports related, who have not previously been funded by Sport England, who have links to specific target audiences. Accessible and Inclusive Sports Facilities

We have produced new guidance to help ensure sport and leisure facilities are safe, welcoming and accessible to all. Aimed at planners, architects, building owners and operators, our Accessible and inclusive sports facilities (AISF) guidance encourages the design of spaces that reduce or remove barriers to being more active. That includes creating and maintaining facilities that are accessible to disabled people and meet the needs of our vibrant and diverse communities, such as those related to faith, sex, sexuality and gender identity. Ramadan PE guidelines

Ground-breaking Ramadan guidance developed by Dr Irfan Khawaja at Birmingham City University will create a more inclusive environment in schools for Muslim students and staff engaging in physical education. Football Psychosis

Early Intervention Team received funds from Active Cheshire through Sport England to run an activity timetable of football, climbing and cycling. These sessions we redesigned around participants who are diagnosed with psychosis. Find out more

Recycle Bicycles

This project trained military veterans with disabilities and mental health problems to focus on a given project which would give them training, qualifications and a sense of wellbeing. Thrive Chronic Pain Support Group supports adults with Chronic pain of any description, some of whom have co-morbid conditions such as mental health, diabetes etc. Members vary in age and background; some are in work and others are reliant on benefits. Wirral Deen Centre

Wirral Deen Centre is a mosque and community centre open to everyone based in the Birkenhead & Tranmere ward, which falls within the top 4% of most deprived areas in England. Having previously not run any projects relating to physical activity, the charity approached MSP for some funding through the Together Fund in order to encourage people from predominantly BAME backgrounds to increase their physical activity levels during the Covid19 pandemic. Active Carers

Health Your Way provides support to the health and social care sector. We had identified that as a result of Covid-19, many paid carers that supported people with long term healthcare needs were moving less than before (which was already low due to demand shift patterns), mainly due to people shielding. This means that they had been going out less into the community with the person they supported and were in the person’s home more, where they were less active in their role than usual. Find out more
