Ramadan PE guidelines

Ground-breaking Ramadan guidance developed by Dr Irfan Khawaja at Birmingham City University will create a more inclusive environment in schools for Muslim students and staff engaging in physical education. The guidance, thought to be the first of its kind in the United Kingdom, gives schools practical advice for supporting fasting Muslim students and staff so they can continue to take part in PE sessions during the Holy month of Ramadan. Youth Social Prescribing

In 2020, NHS England & NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) commissioned the Social Prescribing Youth Network to develop a proposal for ‘youth social prescribing’ to help build an all-age model of social prescribing. Following completion of this work, and using some of the information gathered, SPYN produced the following resources which are intended to help more areas to introduce all-age social prescribing. 1,000 Young Voices

The Coronavirus Pandemic and now, the cost-of-living crisis, has impacted strongly on young people’s lives, the communities they live in and their ability to be active. That’s why StreetGames in partnership with Platypus Research have just undertaken a major research study to capture the views and opinions of 1,000 young people from lower-income households. This includes in depth listings and all the information you need to connect to local inclusive opportunities. We believe there’s a sport or activity out there for everyone – and by highlighting inclusive activities and one-off events which non disabled and disabled people can do together, we hope Every Body Moves can inform and inspire people to discover something new. Mind – Supporting Young People with Physical Activity

Coaches, volunteers and leaders play an important role in supporting young people's mental health when providing physical activity session. Working with young people and coached, we have co-produced resources to upskill the workforce.
